Meyer Burger, a solar cell manufacturing company, plans to expand its production capacity in the United States and Germany. Gunter Erfurt, the company's CEO, expressed the company's increased interest in domestic manufacturing following new guidance on the domestic content requirement. They aim to manufacture 2 GW per year of solar cells in Arizona and have secured manufacturing space in Germany as well. The company is looking to meet the domestic content requirement by exploring domestic manufacturing options. They have reached out to the Department of Energy for potential funding to construct a solar cell facility.
