Meyer Burger Technology announced the shutdown of its solar module manufacturing facilities in Germany due to a deteriorating market environment in Europe. The company plans to close one of Europe's largest operational solar module production sites in Freiberg, Germany in April 2024, affecting around 500 people. Meyer Burger will focus on cell production in Talheim, Germany, to support module production at its upcoming 2 GW factory in the United States. The company aims to benefit from favorable industry policies in the US and aims for significant expansion in the country.
