Michigan Public Service Commission to retain control over renewable energy permitting

Citizens for Local Choice in Michigan failed to transfer control of renewable energy project permits to local governments and will continue to be managed by the state's Public Service Commission (MPSC). The petition, responding to House Bill 5120, aimed to give locals more say but lacked enough signatures. MPSC now approves large-scale renewables thanks to a bill passed under state governor Gretchen Whitmer's energy reforms.
