Munich arrest before Intersolar tied to anti-dumping subsidy case, says lawyer

Reports of a Chinese citizen's arrest at Munich Airport prior to the start of Intersolar Europe caused a stir at The Smarter E exhibition. The person involved is under investigation for allegedly evading anti-dumping duties on imported Chinese solar modules dating back to 2015-17. The accused used intermediary companies in Greece and the Isle of Man to avoid duties amounting to approximately €35 million. Minimum import prices for crystalline PV products in the EU expired in September 2018.
