Naturgy gets green light to build 18-MW wind farm in north-west Spain

Spanish power and gas utility Naturgy Energy Group SA has secured consent and a construction permit to set up an 18-MW wind farm named Patineiro in Galicia, northwestern Spain. The project involves an investment of EUR 17.8 million. Naturgy will install three 6-MW wind turbines at the site in Vimianzo, with the wind farm expected to generate approximately 60,530 MWh of electricity annually. The company adjusted its original plan during the environmental evaluation, reducing the total turbines to three and increasing their unit capacity to 6 MW.
