Researchers at TU Delft in the Netherlands studied structural loads and power losses in offshore floating PV systems. They explored various floater configurations and how they are affected by wave movements and weather conditions. The study revealed design trade-offs and the impact of structural properties on power mismatch losses. The results indicated that a symbiosis between offshore solar and offshore wind could minimize elastic stresses and optimize power generation.
