NextEnergy Capital fund acquires 248MW Spanish solar portfolio

The NPV ESG fund, managed by NEC, has raised $750 million in financing commitments and acquired a 248MW Spanish solar PV portfolio. NEC plans to invest in 5GW of renewable power generation capacity through the fund. They have made investments in Spain, Poland, US, and Portugal. Antonio Salvati, managing director of NPV ESG, stated their commitment to investing in Iberia through the Madrid office, with multiple projects under negotiation. The fund aims to increase its capital to $1.5 billion by 2033. Solar PV investment is expected to reach $500 billion globally by 2024, as reported by the IEA.
