NI green generation figures ‘disappointing’

Northern Ireland's Department for the Economy has published the latest renewable electricity generation figures, showing a reduction from the previous year. Renewable generation accounted for 45.8% of NI's electricity use in June 2024, down from 51% in 2022. Steven Agnew from RenewableNI highlighted the need for more renewable projects to meet the 80% target by 2030. Urgent policy action is necessary to increase generation and benefit the environment.
