Nine offshore wind farm projects awarded in UK auction

Nine offshore wind farm contracts have been awarded by the UK government as part of green energy projects. These projects aim to provide electricity for 11 million UK homes. Some experts question if the projects will meet 2030 renewable energy targets. Higher energy bills are expected for households. The contracts include Europe's largest wind farms by Ørsted. Scottish Power and Iberdrola are also involved in offshore wind projects. The Labour government targets producing 60GW of energy through wind farms by 2030.
