NKT scoops Polish cable order

NKT has signed a large order with Polish utility Tauron to support grid upgrades for accommodating more renewable energy in Poland. This includes a significant increase in solar power capacity by 2030 and 2040. NKT has been awarded the order to provide 1300 km of 20kV power cables to reinforce Tauron's power grid, with delivery scheduled for 2024-2025. The shift towards renewable energy and smarter grids in Poland highlights the importance of NKT's power cable solutions, as stated by Carlos Fernandez, EVP, Applications, NKT. Poland aims to have a new power system by 2040 heavily reliant on renewable energy sources.
