Nordex develops electrolyser prototype

Nordex Electrolyzers, a joint venture, developed the first prototype of a 500kW pressurized alkaline electrolyser in Navarra, Spain. The company plans to have the final design of its serialisable MW-scale product available by 2026. The prototype has shown promising results in terms of efficiency and flexibility in relation to renewable energies, producing more than 10 kg/h of hydrogen. It is specially designed to work with power changes and frequent stops.
