Nordex to expand 5-MW turbine offering for US market with new model

German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex SE is expanding its US market offering with the N169/5.X, a variant in the 5-MW segment. The N169/5.X with a rotor diameter of 169 meters and a power rating of up to 5.5 MW is scheduled to start production in 2026. Nordex will produce the turbine at its facility in West Branch, Iowa, utilizing components made in the US. The machine is designed for wind regions in the US with low to medium wind speeds and will help meet customer needs in grid-constrained sites.
