NorSun to build 5GW ingot and wafer manufacturing plant in Oklahoma

NorSun, a Norwegian manufacturer, is investing US$620 million to build a 5GW ingot and wafer manufacturing plant in Tulsa, Oklahoma, US. The new facility aims to meet the increasing demand from US cell and module manufacturers and can be expanded to reach a capacity of 10GW. NorSun secured NOK90 million in equity financing to support its expansion in Europe and the US. The company faced challenges due to exceptionally low price Chinese solar modules causing a temporary halt in production.
