St Barbara's branch, Atlantic Mining, is teaming up with Natural Forces to explore repurposing the Touqoy Gold Mine in Nova Scotia into a closed-loop pumped hydro energy storage system combined with solar photovoltaic panels. Robert Apold, the director at Natural Forces, is optimistic about the project's feasibility. The team plans to involve the local community in the proposed developments if the concept is viable. Natural Forces operates renewable energy projects in Canada, Ireland, and France.
