Octopus unit gets planning approval for 500-MW Aussie BESS

The Australian unit of Britain’s Octopus Group has received planning approval for a 500-MW/1,000-MWh battery energy storage system project near Brisbane in Queensland. The Blackstone project is expected to power up to 70,000 homes per day. Octopus Australia will collaborate with key stakeholders for the project, including Firm Power and Powerlink.
