Offshore wind soars with 10.8GW 2023 tally

Offshore wind industry recorded its second-best year for annual installed capacity in 2023 with 10.8GW of new offshore wind capacity installed globally, reaching a total of 75.2GW. The sector is set for accelerated expansion over the next decade due to key policy developments. GWEC forecasts 410GW of new offshore wind capacity to be installed in the next ten years, in line with global targets. The anticipated growth will be driven by collaboration between industry and government and the arrival of new offshore wind markets.
