Onshore plans for 2-GW West of Orkney Windfarm gain approval

The onshore plans of the 2-GW West of Orkney Windfarm project, being developed by Corio Generation, TotalEnergies and Renewable Infrastructure Development Group, have been approved by the Highland Council in Scotland. The project will have 125 turbines on fixed foundations and aims to start construction in 2027 with power generation set for 2029. The onshore connection is crucial to export clean electricity to homes and businesses across the country.
