Organic solar cell based on PEDOT:PSS hole transport layer achieves 17.1% efficiency

A team of scientists from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität in Germany presented an organic photovoltaic cell based on a hole transport layer (HTL) using PEDOT:PSS. The cell showed high efficiency and stability, achieving a power conversion efficiency of 17.1% under testing and demonstrated excellent operational stability. The proposed HTL architecture consisted of doped PTAA nanoparticles and PEDOT:PSS. The research aims at industrial scalability of the technology.
