Australian distributed energy provider Pacific Energy has secured a deal to build a 26-MW hybrid system with solar, batteries and diesel generators to help decarbonise mining operations in New South Wales. The system aims to power Tronox's Atlas-Campaspe mineral sands mining activities near Hatfield, reducing diesel consumption. The hybrid installation includes a 11-MW solar PV park, 3 MW/6 MWh BESS, and 12 MW of diesel generation, with 40% renewables power expected.
