A 600 MW solar and energy storage project, Cottam Solar Project, has been granted planning consent in the United Kingdom. The project developer Island Green Power can proceed with construction at the utility-scale site. The Cottam Solar Project DCO was issued by DESNZ Secretary of State Ed Miliband. The project will use a grid connection at the nearby Cottam 400 kV substation, previously serving the EDF-owned Cottam coal-fired power station. Island Green Power is also developing the West Burton Solar Project, subject to DCO approval.
