Poland launches tender for 263 MW/900 MWh battery storage system

PGE Group announced a tender for the construction of a battery energy storage facility in Żarnowiec, Poland. The facility will have a power output of 263 MW and a storage capacity of at least 900 MWh. Dariusz Marzec, president of the management board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, referred to the project as one of the largest battery energy storage facilities in Europe. By 2030, the company aims to have at least 800 MW of new energy storage capacity.
