POLO back junction solar cell built with PECVD achieves 24.2% efficiency

A group of researchers led by Germany's Institute for Solar Energy Research Hamelin (ISFH) developed a novel n+-type polysilicon on oxide (POLO) back junction solar cell with an AlOx/SiNy passivation layer stack using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition. The research focused on achieving excellent passivation quality and higher efficiency of the solar cell.
