The Queensland government is investing AU$448 million in battery energy storage system (BESS) technology at the Stanwell Clean Energy Hub in Central Queensland. The planned 300MW, 4-hour duration system will be built at the site of Stanwell Power Station as part of the government's transition to clean energy resources. The investment includes a 1,200MWh BESS, partnerships with Tesla and Yurika, and the goal of reaching 80% renewable energy by 2035.
