REC Silicon, a Norwegian silane gas and silicon producer, has restarted its Moses Lake facility in Washington, US, to produce ultra-high purity polysilicon. The restart comes after a 10-year supply agreement with South Korea's Qcells. The facility closed in 2020 due to trade talks. The restart aims to provide ultra-high purity polysilicon for the US solar industry and significant volumes of silane gas for the battery industry.
