Heat pump installations in the United Kingdom are on a record-breaking trajectory, with MCS reporting significant increases in installations. The MCS-certified air-sourced heat pump installations in May 2024 were the second-highest on record, indicating a potential new annual installation record. Ian Rippin, CEO at MCS, highlighted the importance of consumers adopting heat pump technologies. Additionally, the UK government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme offers a grant of GBP 7,500 for heat pump installations through MCS-certified installers. Battery storage installations have also seen growth, surpassing the number of small-scale installations recorded in 2023. However, solar installations have experienced a slight decline in year-to-year comparisons.
