Scientists from the University of New South Wales in Australia have introduced rectangular vortex generators (VGs) as a passive cooling technique for photovoltaic panels. They have demonstrated that VGs can reduce the operating temperature of modules by 1.5 C to 2.5 C. The study utilized VGs of different materials and shapes to enhance convective heat transfer, leading to improved cooling efficiency.
