Researchers at the University of Ottawa and the US Department of Energy's NREL in Colorado have studied the impact of using artificial ground reflectors under solar panels on power generation in bifacial PV systems. Using materials provided by Solmax Geosynthetics, they found that these reflectors could increase annual energy yield by up to 4.5%. The study emphasized optimal placement and economic feasibility, particularly under conditions of varying ground albedo influenced by factors such as snow.
