The article discusses Rio Tinto's development of two 5.25MW solar farms in the Gove Peninsula of the Northern Territory, Australia, aiming to spearhead renewable energy developments in the region following the closure of Rio Tinto's mining facility. The solar farms will be located in Gumatj and Rirratjingu country, on Rio Tinto leases, in collaboration with Aboriginal communities. Aggreko will construct, own, and operate the solar farms, expected to reduce the region's annual diesel consumption by 20%.
