Rooftop PV reduces building retrofitting costs by up to 50%

A group of scientists from Cambridge University analyzed the economic benefits of combining energy-efficiency retrofit with rooftop PV installation in apartment buildings in Aachen, Germany. The study suggests that installing rooftop PV can significantly reduce retrofitting costs and improve financial returns, especially when combined with a heat pump system.
