Rooftop solar surges ahead in Australia with 1.3 GW installed in H1 2024

A new report by the Clean Energy Council reveals that Australian households have added over 141,000 new rooftop solar systems to the national grid in the first half of 2024. Rooftop PV now contributes significantly to Australia's total energy mix. The report highlights the growth in rooftop solar installations, average system sizes, and the increasing uptake of home battery energy storage systems. Despite the growth, there is a call for a national incentive scheme to boost home battery uptake and achieve renewable energy targets by 2030.
