RWE has received permits for a 660MW offshore wind farm project in the German North Sea. The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency has issued planning approval decisions for the first expansion stage of RWE’s North Sea Cluster offshore wind projects. Construction of North Sea Cluster A is scheduled to start in 2025 with full commissioning scheduled for early 2027. North Sea Cluster B will contribute a further 900MW. RWE recently made the investment decision for the entire cluster and the suppliers for the main components have also already been selected. The North Sea Cluster will be located about 46km north of the island of Borkum and about 50km north of the island of Juist.
