RWE breaks ground on 53-MW wind farm in Italy

RWE AG has initiated the construction of a 53-MW wind farm in Apulia, Italy. The Mondonuovo park, alongside the existing 54-MW San Severo wind farm, will have a combined annual output to power up to 110,000 homes. The project includes nine 5.9 MW turbines. Scheduled for completion in 2025, the construction will begin with access roads and turbine foundations. Katja Wunschel, CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, highlighted the importance of the projects in achieving the group's 2040 net zero goal, emphasizing Italy as a key market.
