RWE powers up solar, BESS plant at German opencast mine

RWE AG has fully commissioned a solar-plus-storage hybrid plant at Hambach lignite opencast mine in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The RWE Neuland Solar Farm includes 22,000 bifacial solar panels on a gravel field near Hambach Lake. Neuland solar projects are underway, with additional phases planned. These plants will be operated jointly with Neuland Hambach GmbH.
