RWE taps Lamprell for transition pieces in 2.8 GW UK offshore projects

German energy group RWE AG has awarded contracts to Lamprell Energy Ltd for the supply of transition pieces for two offshore wind projects in the UK with a combined capacity of 2.8 GW. Lamprell will be responsible for the manufacture and supply of 92 transition pieces for each of the two wind farms. RWE's Norfolk projects already have seabed rights, grid connections, and development consent orders, with onshore construction of the substations underway.
