RWE unveils 350MW Welsh battery plan

RWE has unveiled a 350MW battery storage system adjacent to Pembroke Power Station in Wales. The system will consist of 212 battery containers, 106 power conversion systems, and associated infrastructure, with a maximum charge/discharge power of 350 megawatts. It will connect to the grid via underground cables and have the capacity to store enough electricity for over 72,000 typical UK homes. The Pembroke Net Zero Centre director, Richard Little, highlighted the project as part of their investment in innovative energy technologies.
