Sales at Wacker Chemie’s polysilicon division fall by 55%

Wacker Chemie AG experienced a significant decline in second-quarter sales and earnings, mainly due to lower sales volumes of polysilicon for the solar industry. The company announced that total sales fell to around €1.5 billion, with EBITDA falling by 37% to €160 million. Despite the challenging quarter, Wacker Chemie confirmed its full-year forecast and plans to expand its customer base for polysilicon.
