Scientists from the Italian Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems (CNR-IMM) developed a semi-transparent perovskite solar cell using a TiO2 sponge to prevent potential lead leakage. The solar cell showed a power conversion efficiency of 11.6% with an average visible transmittance of 31.4%. Their research focused on addressing lead leakages in various solar cell applications and proposed sustainable solutions for recycling at the end of the device's life cycle.
