A research team at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany has developed panel-like photoreactors that use a water-splitting photocatalyst to produce hydrogen on rooftops or dedicated solar farms. The photoreactors mimic the photosynthesis process, contain a V-shaped concentrator and a tube-like cavity, and are coated with aluminum for high reflectivity. The research team presented the concept in a study published in Joule.
