Solar fuels German renewables rise

Germany's Federal Network Agency reported 9.3GW of new renewable energy plants added in the first half of 2024, primarily driven by solar projects. The total output increased by 5.3%, with a significant expansion in solar systems and permits for new onshore wind turbines. Offshore wind capacity also saw growth. Onshore wind capacity stands at just under 62GW.
