SolReina’s patented solar window wins best protected invention award in Spain

Spanish BIPV manufacturer SolReina has developed a groundbreaking solar window with a PV panel as a folding and adjustable shutter, winning the award for Best Utility Model in Spain. The window is designed for efficient electricity generation from sunlight, surpassing traditional window functionality. With high-tech features such as thermal and acoustic insulation, high-security tempered glass, and excellent resistance to mechanical stress and temperature changes, these windows offer superior performance. The PV modules utilize high-efficiency crystalline silicon cells laminated between polyvinyl butyral for protection and optimal performance. The innovative windows can orient themselves based on solar radiation angles, can be customized in size and design, and are proven to significantly reduce the need for electric air conditioning while increasing photovoltaic energy production. SolReina aims to expand its market presence and establish collaborations in Europe after patenting the technology in Germany.
