Sosteneo, Enel finalize partnership for 1.7 GW battery storage rollout in Italy

Sosteneo, part of Generali Investments, acquires 49% of Enel Libra Flexsys for EUR 1.1 billion. Enel Libra Flexsys manages 23 BESS projects and 3 OCGT projects in Italy. Mezzanine financing of €200 million by Canada Pension Plan and senior financing of €900 million by consortium of banks supports the acquisition. Revenues are contracted for 15 years through agreements with Enel.
