Spain approves construction of 24,870 MW of PV

A total of 428 renewable energy projects initiated the process to obtain Administrative Construction Authorization, but only 321 obtained a favorable Environmental Impact Statement. 37,000 MW of renewable energy were at risk of losing rights due to authorization deadlines. Ministry for the Ecological Transition granted authorization to 283 projects totaling 28,123 MW, requiring an investment of more than €17 billion and generating around 300,000 jobs. Spain aims to triple PV power to exceed 76 GW and double wind power to cover 81% of electricity with clean energy by 2030.
