Spain sets new 2030 solar target of 76 GW

Spain's Council of Ministers has approved a Royal Decree updating the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC 2023-30) with a focus on promoting renewables, storage, and demand management. By 2030, Spain aims to install 76 GW of solar, 62 GW of wind power, 1.4 GW of biomass, and 22.5 GW of storage capacity. The plan also includes a target of 12 GW of electrolyzer capacity for green hydrogen production. APPA Renovables and UNEF voiced their opinions on the ambitious targets set by the plan.
