Spain tweaks 2030 NECP, raises energy storage and hydrogen targets

The Spanish government has made few changes to its final 2023-2030 National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) compared to the draft version, emphasizing on energy storage and green hydrogen targets. The plan includes targets for renewable energy sources, electricity generation, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, and other key objectives such as increasing indigenous energy production, rehabilitation of homes, and promoting electric vehicles. Investments worth EUR 308 billion are expected to be mobilised by 2030 for these initiatives.
