Spanish firm EiDF gets green light for 50-MW solar project at home

Spanish solar self-consumption specialist EiDF has secured a permit to construct a 50-MW photovoltaic solar power plant in Leon province, northwestern Spain. The project will require an investment of close to EUR 40 million and will feature more than 99,000 Tier 1 modules. The solar farm will be located on a 149-hectare site in the municipality of Valdefresno. EiDF plans to start construction in the first quarter of 2025 and expects the project to take seven months. This project is part of EiDF's strategy to go beyond self-consumption and achieve vertical integration, generating electricity for its power retail verticals.
