SSE powers up hydro turbine in Scotland

Perthshire’s Tummel Bridge Power Station in Scotland has been repowered by SSE Renewables with a £50m investment, increasing its output from 34MW to 40MW. The project involves installing two new hydro power turbines to improve efficiency and extend the station's working life. Neil Lannen, SSE Renewables director, highlighted the importance of hydro power in achieving net zero carbon emissions. Global Infrastructure, Stantec, and Voith are key partners in the project.
