SSE takes FID on 50MW Aberarder project

SSE has decided to proceed with the 50MW Aberarder wind farm in the Scottish Highlands with a circa £100m investment. The construction of the 12-turbine site will begin before the end of the year with completion scheduled for the end of 2026. Located near Inverness, Aberarder will generate clean electricity to power 60,000 homes annually and offset carbon emissions. It will contribute to SSE plc's Net Zero Acceleration Programme Plus, aiming to invest around £20.5bn in low carbon energy infrastructure.
