SSEN picks NKT for Scottish connector gig

SSEN Transmission has secured agreements with cable supplier NKT to deliver two major HVDC transmission connection projects in Scotland, connecting Lewis to Beauly and Spittal to Peterhead. These projects are part of SSEN Transmission’s £20bn infrastructure development programme to upgrade the electricity transmission network in north Scotland for renewable energy transportation around Great Britain. The agreements aim to support the timely delivery of the projects by NKT, with a focus on the Western Isles Connection Project and strengthening the Scottish power grid.
