SSEN Transmission inks Orkney link contracts

SSEN Transmission has signed contracts with key contractors for the construction of the Orkney-Caithness 220kV link. The project involves the installation of a new substation at Finstown in Orkney, underground wire to Warebeth, subsea line to Dounreay in Caithness, and connection to the GB electricity transmission network. The project aims to connect up to 220MW of new renewable electricity to the national grid.
