Statkraft's UK grid stabilising project clears planning

Statkraft has received planning permission for Necton Greener Grid Park in Norfolk, UK, to enhance grid stability and facilitate the transmission of more renewable energy. The project aims to eliminate the need for fossil fuel power stations to provide stability by deploying synchronous compensators. The facility will resemble agricultural buildings and contribute £20,000 annually to local environmental projects. Sacha Lloyd Rutherford, the project manager, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in transitioning to green energy and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
